Reader's Services
Oversees the operations of all the programs, services, and facilities that concern the information needs of MU faculty and students.
Circulation Services
Responsible for the checking out (borrowing), checking in (returning), renewal, recall and overdue fines computation of library materials through the circulation desk.
Reserve Section Services
Reserve collections consist of high demand materials or course-required reading materials selected by instructors for use by students enrolled in specific courses.
Research and Reference Assistance Service
This service provides assistance, guidance, and instruction to users in accessing and retrieving information as well as help users prepare bibliography of all forms of information resources.
Periodical Services
Provide local and foreign journals, magazines, newspapers; and, clippings from newspapers and ephemeral materials. Periodical materials with completed issues are bound and indexed for easy access.
Provision of Filipiniana materials
LIC provides books on various subjects or topics in Philippine setting, or any topic related to the Philippines regardless of author and imprint.
Current Awareness Service
This service includes the distribution of list of newly acquired books to the Deans, faculty members of the college. Publishers catalogues and price lists from book dealers are forwarded to concerned college for reference and information for books to be purchased. Provides updates to new acquisitions and events of the LIC through bulletin board display.
Referral / Recommendation
Referral or recommendation letters are issued to source out materials from other libraries in case such holdings are not available in the MU Library. MU Library is also open to researchers from other institutions. Indexing / Newspaper Clippings - Indexing is provided for relevant newspaper articles. Clippings and vertical files are arranged in folders according to subject.
Photocopying Service
Students reference and circulation needs are facilitated with an additional service, that of photocopying. The library maintains the presence of photocopying machines located at the second.
Bibliography Making
Teach students how to write a bibliography for a research paper.
Electronic Resource Section or Internet
The Internet or "Information Superhighway" supplements substantially the traditional tool used to gather information. This allows the library users to discover and explore the World Wide Web. The University Library Electronic Resource Section (ERS) laboratory facility is setup and solely intended to facilitate and support the academic computing needs of Misamis University faculty, staff and students in teaching and studying through the provisions of having up-to-date and efficient electronic resource materials.
Online Database Instruction
Teach students how to access and create account on the subscribed online databases namely: Proquest Central, Proquest Ebook Central, Philippine E-journal, Gale Reference Complete, Oxford Reference, ACM Digital Library, Wiley Online Library, and ePlatform.
