Policies and Guidelines

General Reference, Special Collection, handbooks, reviewers, manuals, guidebooks, Filipiniana and Periodical materials are read inside the library only.
Books in Reserve Section can be lent out for a limited time to students. Reserve Books are issued for only one (1) hour within the designated reading area. Extension may be granted if there is no demand from other borrower/s.
Books from the General Section may be lent out: three (3) days for reference books. Renewal for another day is granted only if there is no waiting list. Borrowed books should be presented at the circulation counter for renewal.
Any person who loses or fails to return borrowed books after the due date shall replace them within seven (7) days or pay the current value together with accrued fines and processing fee. If the book is out of printing, cost of photocopy plus binding will be charged. Further borrowing is temporarily suspended until the account is cleared.
Books borrowed for home use shall be returned to the Loan Desk / Record Section. Books used inside the library should be returned to their proper area. Books and other library materials that are taken out should be presented to the checker for inspection. Inquiries concerning lost and found articles should be made at the loan desk. Library personnel are not responsible for personal belongings lost inside the library.
Circulation
The circulation section connects library materials with users. It facilitates loaning of books, keeps records of returned and overdue items, and ensures proper shelving and repair of materials.
Behavior and Conduct
- Loud conversations are not allowed.
- Food and drinks, except bottled water, may not be consumed in the library.
- Indecent behavior and sleeping in the library are prohibited.
- Mobile phones should be on silent; telephone calls are not allowed.
- Moving furniture, plate/scrapbook making, charging laptops outside designated area, littering, loitering, watching movies/games are prohibited.
- Proper decorum must be observed. Students must wear proper school uniform and carry Library Borrower's Card (LBC) when borrowing materials.
- Projects or bulky materials should not be brought into the library. Courtesy booth available for deposit.
- Services may be extended to outside researchers with proper letter of recommendation and payment of service fee.
All currently enrolled students and employees have borrowing privileges. The Library Borrowers Card (LBC) or Faculty Ledger is used to charge out materials. Lost LBC must be reported immediately.
Students
- Borrow material personally and record in LBC and book card.
- Maximum 3 books at a time: 2 General Collection and 1 Fiction or one not in demand.
- Failure to return on time: Php10/day per book.
- Overnight and Reserve books have specific time rules with fines for violations.
- Renewals allowed if no request is made on the book.
- Obligations (fines/unreturned books) block further borrowing until settled.
- Replacement of lost or damaged books required within 2 weeks; updated edition allowed if original unavailable.
Faculty and Staff
- Borrow books personally and record in Faculty Ledger.
- Maximum 3 General or Fiction books at a time; period varies by type.
- Overdue fines apply as with students.
- Only one Reserve book at a time; overnight rules apply.
- Renewals allowed if no request exists.
- Other materials (theses, journals, electronic resources, maps, globes) are library use only.

Fines apply to all borrowers and borrowing privileges may be blocked until cleared. All overdue accounts are contacted via text or email.
Mutilated pages, detached stickers or barcodes incur Php150 per page for restoration, or replacement of damaged materials. Lost/missing pages are replaced with the same title or updated edition upon approval.
Serious offenses like mutilating, damaging, misplacing, or refusing to return materials will result in fines, replacement costs, and suspension of borrowing privileges. Attempted theft will result in disciplinary action.
All borrowers must return borrowed books based on posted schedules at the end of the semester. Library In-charge checks for unsettled obligations and signs clearance when borrower is cleared.
- Graduating and Non-Graduating Students: 1 week before final exams.
- Faculty and Staff: scheduled clearance due dates.
